Looking for something to do this weekend? Live in or near Kissimmee, Florida? Are you, by chance, a fan of brooms?

If one or more of the above questions describes your unique predicament, I humbly suggest you make your way to Austin Tindall Park for Quidditch World Cup VI, a most magical sporting event presented by the International Quidditch Association and Experience Kissimmee. Eighty official college teams representing 22 states and four nations will compete in the real-life version of J.K. Rowling’s fantastical creation for a chance at the game’s top honor—the World Cup itself.

A ground-level, full contact blend of rugby, dodgeball and a fan convention gone horribly awry, Muggle Quidditch challenges chasers (scorers), beaters (defensemen) and highly specialized seekers to rack up points and evade capture all while holding brooms between their legs Hogwarts-style. In addition to the madness of the competition itself, the Quidditch World Cup offers a fun, family-friendly atmosphere complete with costumes, music and merriment.

The event runs from 9 AM – 11 PM on Saturday, April 13th and 8 AM – 5 PM on Sunday, April 14th. Tickets are still available at WorldCupQuidditch.com, and tickets for a special post-Cup party—teased as taking place “at a very magical location”—are available from Experience Kissimmee.
